Zero Data Collection

Nulume Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Privacy Principles of Nulume

Nulume is built so that your footage never has anywhere to go but your own iPhone:

  • Zero Data Collection: No personal information, usage metrics, or media content is collected, stored remotely, or transmitted.
  • 100% On-Device Processing: Decoding, LUT application, colour correction and export all run locally on your iPhone.
  • Zero Network Communication: Nulume contains no networking code and makes no internet requests of any kind.
  • No Accounts or Tracking: No sign-up, no ads, no analytics or attribution SDKs.
  • Nothing Written Back: Source clips are read only. Nulume never modifies or deletes the videos you open.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Nulume does not collect any data from your device. Specifically:

  • Videos & LUTs: Your footage, its embedded metadata (capture date, location), and any .cube files you import never leave the device.
  • Personal Identifiers: The app does not ask for or collect names, email addresses, device identifiers, or IP addresses.
  • Usage Analytics: There are no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting frameworks embedded in Nulume.

Because of this, Nulume's App Store privacy declaration is "Data Not Collected".

2. Access Nulume Asks For

Nulume requests the minimum access needed to do its job, and nothing more:

Photo Library — read, only what you pick

When you choose a clip, only the item you select is handed to the app by the system picker. Nulume does not browse or index your library.

Photo Library — add only

Requested only when you save an exported video. Nulume uses add-only authorisation, so it can write the finished file and nothing else.

Files — only what you select

Clips opened from the Files app (local, external drives, or cloud storage) are read in place through the system file picker. The app has access to the specific file you chose, for as long as it is open.

3. Local Storage

Imported LUTs are copied into Nulume's own app storage so they remain available offline. That directory is explicitly marked isExcludedFromBackup, so your LUT library is kept out of iCloud and out of encrypted device backups by design.

Clips brought in from the photo library are copied to a temporary working folder for the duration of the session and removed afterwards; that folder is also cleared on every launch. Deleting the app removes all of this local data.

4. Zero Network Requests

Nulume performs no network communication. It contains no HTTP client, no socket usage, and no third-party SDK that could communicate on its behalf. The app functions identically in Airplane Mode.

5. In-App Purchase

Nulume offers a single one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks 10-bit HEVC and ProRes export. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store through StoreKit. Nulume never sees, receives, or stores your payment details — it only asks the system whether the unlock is currently active on your Apple Account.

6. Children's Privacy

Nulume is a general-purpose utility that collects no data from anyone, of any age. It contains no user-generated content features, no messaging, and no external links to unmoderated content.

7. Inquiries and Customer Support

If you send us an inquiry through our online contact form, any details you provide (such as your name and email address) will be used solely to answer your question and assist with support. We will never sell, share, or disclose your information to any third party.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with an updated date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
